On Getting

“Lola” bag in Black by Epiphanie
It’s actually a sexy camera bag with padded movable dividers. The inside just happens to look like a hot pink vagina. I have lusted for this bag for about six months. I now own it. Thank you, baby.

Infinity Hood Cowl in Charcoal Black by smittenkittenorig on Etsy
This is a gorgeous handmade circle scarf that doubles as a hood. Andrés picked it out for me in my favorite color (charcoal). It’s super warm and soft.

SoulPancake: Chew on Life’s Big Questions
This book is an exploration into philosophy, creativity, spirituality, and truth. I can’t wait to dive into it during my daily commute to and from the city. It came recommended by Dooce, so it’s gotta be good, right?

Simply Calphalon Nonstick 6-Piece Bakeware Set
I am so excited to be stocking my future kitchen. I recently bought a crock pot and a new set of pans, so with the addition of the bakeware set, I’m almost there. I want to make blueberry muffins and funfetti cake as soon as possible.

Zippo Hand Warmer
This thing is huge – it’s almost as big as my palm! I’m not exactly sure how it works, but when it’s fueled up and lit, it’s supposed to keep your hands warm for up to 12 hours. I like the sound of that. Can’t wait to try it out.

Suck.uk Key Bottle Opener
I don’t really drink much beer (actually, no beer at all on account of it makes me gassy), but I love the novelty of this bottle opener disguised as a medieval key. I guess I could use it to open Smirnoff Blueberry & Lemonade (and other equally slutty 16-year-old girl drinks), root beer, or cream soda bottles.

Zojirushi Clear Stainless Mug
This mug is allegedly one of the best. It came highly recommended from by a friend. I’m going to try it out with some hot cider on the way home from my parent’s house tomorrow night.  There will likely be bourbon in that hot cider, too.

Boxers or Briefs
Hasboro stopped making this game for a few years so the price on Amazon SHOT UP. To over $250. FOR A BOARD GAME. I loved this game when I first played it back in 2006, so I kept my eye on it. Well, I guess they started making them again, because the price dropped significantly just in time for Christmas. I hope my family gets a chance to play it this weekend. It’s a blast.

The other favorite gifts I received are: a beautiful tree of life cross stitch made (and elegantly framed) by my oldest sister A (which will be featured later), a cozy thick purple scarf also made by A, gray fingerless gloves from my older sister B, licorice scotties, a few gift cards to Target and Amazon, and lovely earring from Andrés.

Up Next: my favorite gifts I gave.

I am a BIG fan of that camera bag! SUPER nifty! I don't carry a camera anymore as my phone does all I need it to. :D which reminds me I need to drain it as it's a little full. LOL xnote: purple scarf was a granulation present. ;) But it's all good as it was actually Christmas that it was gotten and begiven and all. Nurple. Who poured that last whisky?

Yay, I found your new blog! I’m surpised that anyone actually saw my tweet about my Zojirushi mug, much less owns one now because of it! Do you like yours so far? Watch out for burns, that’s one effective piece of gear!

I also recommend Zojirushi’s Mr. and Ms. Bento for packing those work lunches.

haha! i thought you would get a kick out of that. i love it! i’ve actually suggested it to other people who’ve purchased one, too. & yes – the burns. it’s almost too effective? i leave it uncapped for a while to let it cool a little.

also, i had a friend get his ex-girlfriend to translate the japanese for me. hahaha
